Cottage Cheese Salad

Make a great side dish for 4th of July parties and summertime gatherings. This Cottage Cheese Salad is a quick and simple last-minute recipe using common items already on hand.

Cottage cheese and raisins in a wooden spoon


  • 1 (24 oz.) container small curd cottage cheese
  • 2 large carrots, shredded
  • 2 red apples, diced
  • 4 Tbsp raisins
  • 4 Tbsp walnuts, chopped
  • 1/4 tsp pepper


Fold carrots and apples into cottage cheese.

Stir in raisins and walnuts. Combine well.

Season with pepper to taste.

Walnuts are optional. Try pecans or cashews if preferred. Make sure to keep chilled in ice if served outdoors.

Serves 8.
