Diet Beef and Peppers
Diet Beef and Peppers makes a lie of the theory that healthy food isn't tasty. Try this dish on your family but don't tell them that it is a diet recipe and they'll never know. I'm a great believer in making a diet tasty if you want to stay with it. When it becomes bland and you stop enjoying it is the time when you are most likely to waiver and stray from your goal. That is what I like most about my own weight loss program - I don't give up eating anything that I like. (Lower on this page there is a link to my diet program and it is free for you to use.)
Ingredients:
2 lbs (900 grams)lean round steak, trim all fat
2 green (bell)peppers (capsicum), sliced thin
2 large onions sliced thin.
1 cup beef broth or beef stock
2 tbsp. soy sauce
2 tsp. Worcestershire sauce.
1/2 tsp. ground ginger
1 clove garlic, minced (Can use more if you wish)
Method:
Cut the steak into serving size pieces. Put the vegetables in the bottom of the
crockpot, then lay the steak in a single layer on top of the vegetables. Pour the rest of the ingredients over the top.
Cover and cook on low 8-10 hours or high for about 4 hours.
If you wish to thicken diet beef and peppers before serving stir in a little cornstarch (corn flour) just prior to serving.
