Microwave Turkey

Want to cut Thanksgiving cooking time in half? Try this delicious Microwave Turkey recipe. A flavorful honey-mustard glaze spiced with ginger and curry gives the turkey a bold taste and keeps it moist and tender.


  • 1 (7 lb) turkey breast, thawed
  • 2 Tbsp unsalted butter
  • 1/4 tsp curry powder
  • 1/2 tsp ground ginger
  • 2 Tbsp Dijon style mustard
  • 1/2 cup honey


Place turkey breast-down on a plastic rack set in a deep microwavable dish.

Melt butter in the microwave in a small bowl.

Stir curry, ginger, mustard and honey into the melted butter.

Blend well, then baste the turkey skin with the mixture.

Cover the turkey with wax paper.

Microwave on high for about 14 minutes.

Rotate 1/4 turn and baste again.

Cook an additional 13 minutes.

Remove from microwave and drain off any juice in the dish.

Turn the turkey breast side up and baste with the honey blend.

Microwave for 28 minutes on medium high minutes or until the internal temperature reaches 170 degrees.

Remove the turkey from the microwave and cover with aluminum foil.

Allow the turkey to set covered for 20 minutes before carving.

Note: Cook time will vary based on your microwave.
