Stuffed French Toast Recipe

This Stuffed French Toast Recipe makes a delicious treat for mom on her special day. Slices of fresh strawberry and banana are sandwiched between golden brown French toast slices.Topped with extra fruit and a dusting of powdered sugar, this dish makes an elegant presentation.

Fresh bananas and strawberries


  • 4 strawberries, sliced
  • 1/2 firm banana, sliced
  • 4 slices of French bread
  • 1 egg
  • 2 Tbsp half and half
  • 1/4 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 tsp canola oil
  • 1 tsp confectioners' sugar


Toss strawberry and banana slices together to combine.

Spread 1/4 cup of the mixed fruit in a single layer onto 2 slices of bread. Top with remaining bread slices. Set the leftover fruit aside.

Top with remaining bread slices.

Beat the egg, cream, cinnamon and vanilla in a shallow bowl.

Dip both sides of the sandwich into the mixture, coating them well.

Cook sandwiches in oil over medium heat for 4 minutes each side.

Sprinkle with the confectioners' sugar and top with the remaining fruit.

Serves 2.
